#2/52 Happy Makara Sankranti (2016)

#2/52 – 52 week.

Wish you all a “Happy Makara Sankranti”

Makar Sankranti is of great significance and is one of the most important dates in the Hindu Calendar. Lord Surya (Sun God) is worshiped on this day. Makar Sankranti marks the transition of the sun into the zodiacal sign of Makara (Capricorn) on its celestial path. Makar Sankranti also heralds the arrival of spring. The period is referred to as Uttarayan Punyakalam and is considered auspicious. For the next six months, the days are longer and warmer. The six month long Uttarayana begins on the Makar Sankranti day. It’s also the time when the farmers get their harvest also celebrated as the harvest festival.
